The original Crisbee Puck® is the trusted choice for cast iron enthusiasts who want the perfect seasoning every time. Specially crafted from grapeseed oil and natural beeswax, this seasoning puck is designed to protect and maintain your cast iron cookware while enhancing its natural non-stick surface. Ideal for both initial seasoning and daily maintenance, the Crisbee Puck keeps skillets, Dutch ovens, and griddles in top cooking condition.

Economical and long-lasting, a single 3.25 oz Crisbee Puck treats a 10-inch skillet more than 75 times when used as directed. That’s far more cost-effective than traditional cast iron seasoning oils, which typically require large amounts per application. Packaged in a reusable tin, this family-owned, USA-made product is a kitchen essential for anyone who loves cast iron cooking.

Key Benefits:

  • Protects and conditions cast iron cookware
  • Perfect for initial seasoning and ongoing care
  • All-natural formula with grapeseed oil and beeswax
  • One puck lasts for dozens of applications—compare and save
  • Proudly made in the USA by a family-owned business

Ingredients: Grapeseed Oil, Beeswax

How to Season Cast Iron with Crisbee Puck® or Crisbee Stik®

Initial Seasoning Instructions

  1. Preheat your cast iron skillet, Dutch oven, or pan in a 200°F oven for 30 minutes.
  2. Lightly apply Crisbee to the cast iron using the Crisbee Puck® or Crisbee Stik®. Spread a thin, even layer with a paper towel over the entire surface.
  3. Wipe off as much excess Crisbee as possible with a clean towel until the cast iron looks completely dry. This step prevents sticky residue from forming.
  4. Place the cast iron upside down in the oven.
  5. Bake at 400°F for one hour.
  6. Turn off the oven and let the cast iron cool slowly inside.
  7. Repeat steps 1–6 three times for a strong, durable non-stick seasoning.

Daily Maintenance Seasoning

  1. After cooking, wash your cast iron with warm water (soap is safe—see below) and dry thoroughly.
  2. Place the pan on the stovetop over medium-low heat for a few minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and apply a light coat of Crisbee to the cooking surface only.
  4. Wipe clean with a paper towel until dry.
  5. Store your skillet until next use.

Can I Use Soap on Cast Iron?

Yes—you can use soap!

A common cast iron care myth is that soap will ruin your cast iron seasoning. This belief comes from old-fashioned lye soap, which was caustic and could strip seasoning. However, modern soaps are made through a process called saponification, which neutralizes lye and oils to create soap that is safe for cleaning.

That means today’s dish soap won’t damage the non-stick seasoning on your skillet, Dutch oven, or pan. With proper seasoning and maintenance, your cast iron cookware will last for generations.
