Hawaiian BBQ Chicken
Transport your taste buds to the tropics with this mouthwatering Hawaiian BBQ Chicken recipe. Perfectly marinated in a sweet and savory blend of soy sauce, brown sugar, and pineapple juice, this dish is infused with the bold flavors of garlic and ginger. Cooked to perfection on a griddle, Blackstone, or in a large skillet, the tender chicken thighs develop a caramelized glaze that pairs beautifully with fluffy white rice. This Island Style Dinner is not only easy to make but is also a guaranteed crowd-pleaser that will bring a touch of paradise to your table.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs (cut up)
- 2 cups soy sauce
- 2 cups brown sugar packed
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 8 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
*Note: You can substitute the garlic cloves and fresh ginger with garlic paste and ginger paste.
Instructions
- Pound out the chicken until somewhat flat and cut up into bite size pieces.
- Marinade - Mix everything (except the chicken) in a bowl until the sugar is dissolved.
- Place the chicken in a large zip lock bag and pour the marinade over the chicken.
- Place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
- Now, go ahead and prepare rice for 6-8 people. Let it rest covered, while the Hawaiian Chicken cooks.
- Put all the marinated chicken on the griddle or skillet.
- Cook on each side, flipping every 3 minutes.
- Now, pour some of the marinade on the chicken and continue to cook on each side, again, for 3 minutes.
- At this point, go ahead and plate all the cooked chicken together.
- Put your cooked white rice on 6-8 plates.
- Divide the chicken up and place on the rice.
- Add some of the marinade on each plate, over the chicken, and enjoy an “Island Style Dinner.”
